As the landscape of cinema continues to evolve, there is an increasing demand for stories that resonate with family values and offer uplifting narratives. Industry leaders will explore faith-based and family films at this year's Script-Com Screenwriting Conference on November 10-16.

Joining the conference's ‘Faith in Film: Writing Stories that Inspire’ panel is Alexandra Boylan, an award-winning writer, producer, and actress who has spent two decades championing meaningful stories in Hollywood. Alexandra co-founded a film studio dedicated to producing positive, family-friendly content. Her first feature, Catching Faith paved the way for other acclaimed projects like The Greatest Inheritance and Switched. Her latest project, Identity Crisis expands her reach into the world of young adult literature.

Christopher Shaw is known for his hilarious and heartfelt storytelling. Church People, which Christopher directed, made the MovieGuide top ten faith-based comedies list and features an all-star cast. Christopher also produced and directed the comedy cooking show Something Smells Funny.

Also joining Script-Com's 'Faith in Film' panel is Larry Postel, who has sold four original spec scripts via cold queries that were all produced and released. His Sony project, 5000 Blankets was the winner of the 2023 MovieGuide award while The Main Event was a major hit for Netflix. The independently-financed Flip Turn was named Best Picture at five international film festivals in 2024.

Script-Com is a week-long conference with virtual panels during the week of Nov. 10-14, followed by in-person events held in Nashville on November 15 and 16. The conference will also offer seminars on writing action, thriller, holiday, and horror movies as well as a panel on writing for television and a logline workshop. Saturday's in-person events at Nashville Film Institute include workshops on screenwriting structure and low-budget filmmaking, an awards dinner, a table read and a film festival, followed by a taping of the streaming series, Page 2 Screen on Sunday at the NECAT studio in West Nashville.

Tickets are on sale at www.ScriptCom.org, with discounts available to members of the Tennessee Screenwriting Association ("TSA").

The Script-Com Screenwriters Conference is sponsored by the Tennessee Screenwriting Association in partnership with Tennessee Entertainment Commission, Nashville Film Institute, and NECAT.
